Dakin Farm

 
I got a catalog from Dakin Farm "What Vermont Tastes Like" and despite not being sure I WANT to know what Vermont tastes like, they suggest I celebrate with their famous cob smoked hams.  Now not knowing what cob smoked hams are, I did open the catalog to find out that cob smoked ham is what I thought it was, "slow smoking meats over smoldering corncobs" which sounds mighty nice.  In fact, I may just order a boneless whole ham for $79.95 it sounds so good.  In addition to the ham, they have smoked turkey, bacon and cheese along with gift baskets.  I'll order just so I can stay on their mailing list.

River Street Sweets

 
Somehow (perhaps because I do a ton of food shopping on the internet) I got on River Street Sweets mailing list. Apparently they are known for their pralines ("Savannah's World Famous Pralines").  The cover of the catalog has a photo of some delicious looking chocolate bear claws 
In addition to the pictured milk chocolate bear claws, they have white chocolate and dark chocolate ones also.  Also (for my future reference) there's peanut brittle.   You can send many different kinds of gift baskets with various combinations of their goodies. 

Kansas City Steak Company

 
I just received a catalog from the Kansas City Steak Company (since 1932).  I'm a big believer in giving the gift of food and  there is nothing quite like getting steak delivered to your front door.  I ordered a beef brisket that was amazingly tender.  They roast it for 12 hours over sweet hickory logs and it just fell apart in your mouth.  After looking through their catalog though I just may have to order some steaks. In addition to Porterhouse, Filet and T-Bone, they also carry Beef Wellington, seafood, ham and desserts.
